January 2025

Juno is 5 years old!  To celebrate, we invited supporters, family and friends to enjoy tea, cake, conversation and wellbeing activities on Saturday 18th January at Reveley Lodge, Bushey.  Our guest of honour was Richard Butler, Mayor of Hertsmere, who spoke with warmth and enthusiasm about the work of Juno.  Kemi, our Administrator and one of our counsellors wrote and perfomed a special poem for the occasion:

The Juno Journey

Here we are 5 years on,
So let's start at the beginning, once upon...
A time, there was a goddess called Laura,
Who came to light up our sky with rays of aurora.
The legends Katie and Liz, the bones of this charity,
Recruited Laura to set up our counselling service to provide those that seek it, a safe space, and clarity.

It’s been a long road since then, and it's not always been easy,
Late night meetings, fundraisers; quiz nights, stalls, etc. staying out when it's cold and breezy.

We’ve all put in a lot here at Juno - we've been serious busy bees,
So it's lovely when we come together to thank each other over hot cups of teas.

Our work is vital, and we are passionate about what we do,
So today, we come together to celebrate, reflect, and review.

I mentioned our bones, but we are a team: a body; so what about the rest,
The majestic, Elaine, Lou, and Laura sit at our hearts, pumping our chest,
Our two powerhouse trustee Kat’s are our paws, eyes and ears,
And all our exceptionally skilful counsellors… well, they are our blood, sweat, and tears.

Thank you, everyone;
Our patron, families, supporting agencies, donors, friends, volunteers, and all who have been involved.
It all means so much;
Each one of you here today provides us with the love and opportunity to evolve.

Happy birthday, Juno - here’s to the next 5.
To continuing helping those affected by sexual abuse, hopefully be able to flourish, prosper, and beautifully thrive.

May 2024

We are very excited to announce that we now have a Patron.  Lucy Porter, actor and comedian, has been a prominent figure in British comedy for years, and is well known from TV shows such as Would I Lie to you, QI and Mock the Week. She has performed 13 one-woman shows at Edinburgh and performed live stand up all over the world.  We believe Lucy embodies our values of respect, empathy and compassion and we are delighted that she will be able to represent us in the wider world, helping to promote the work that we do.
